vimy ridge

hi,

i wondered if any of you helpful people could assist me. after a recent visit to an antiques fair i came across what looked like a small brass ink - well with vimy ridge 1917 attached in tiny gold lettering on the front.

i say ink-well, which is just a presumption but i would like to know if any of the forum members have firstly come acrosss such an item and if they might have any information on it. i will try to download a photo of it as soon as i find my camera leads!! anyway thankyou
