toofatfortakeoff Posted 18 September , 2005 Share Posted 18 September , 2005 A FEW YEARS SINCE IVE BEEN there but the has anyoe seen the APMs record book for 1914 I had a special privelege to look at this on my reader card although I wasnt allowed at the time to transcribe the info.goin back a few years now... Among the crimes reported were 'n English lady found wandering around the rear lines-arrested' 30 Scots Regt drunk and diusorderly 1914 It made brilliant reading. Potential for a book I felt. Has anyone done the business on it?

Derek Robertson Posted 21 September , 2005 Share Posted 21 September , 2005 1 drunk and disorderly Scot may just have happened (maybe once) but for a whole company to have been well under the influence is stretching it.
Simon Jones Posted 8 November , 2005 Share Posted 8 November , 2005 Toofat Do you mean that you saw it at the National Archives (Public Record Office) at Kew? I have looked at WO90/6 Judge Advocate General's Office: general courts martial registers, abroad 1900-1917. There is plenty of drunkenness, some underage sex and one case of carnal knowledge with a dog but I don’t recall the cases you mention. I am very interested in the reference to the English lady found behind the lines. Regards Simon
Simon Jones Posted 8 November , 2005 Share Posted 8 November , 2005 Could also be these, which I have not yet seen. WO 84/9 Judge Advocate General's Office: courts martial charge books 1914 June 4 - 1915 May 18 WO 84/10 Judge Advocate General's Office: courts martial charge books 1915 May 19 - 1916 Jan. 21 There are a large number covering the whole war.
