A man with number 2103, in the 1/5th Battalion, the East Lancashire regiment. Does that tell you anything about his enlistment date (which I presume to be pre-war), or even his Company? When I was there a couple of months back, the archivist was very proud of his lists of numbers and certainly confirmed that one of my guys had been a volunteer.
