Remembered Today:

The Annals of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps

By Major - General Sir Steuart Hare,

Preface states "This work cannot claim to be anything approaching a complete history of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps in the Great War. The authors difficulty has not been to find material, but to eliminate it; he has therefore been compelled to give accounts of the chief events only in which battalions of the Regiment took part."

Look ups if so desired.

Andy, does this book mention the Fiji platoon, who were mainly in the 4th KRRC, or the battle of Frezenburg, when a large number of them were killed or wounded.

If you are interested, I have photos and info we could swap.

Hi Christine,

At the bottom of the page there is a mention of them joining the 4th and being posted as a platoon to "B" Company

A fast reply - this was the first day of the Battle of the Aisne. Have occasional access to a 1914 diary for an NCO in 2/KRRC who was there, will try and see if he's mentioned.
