Simon Jones Posted 3 September , 2005 Share Posted 3 September , 2005 Can anyone help with information about the war service of French artist Albert Copieux (1885-1956)? I recently bought this watercolour of La Boisselle, dated June 1915. The French 22nd Infantry Division was there until relieved by the British at the end of July. Copieux taught art at Le Havre although I am not sure if he was born there. The Division comprised: 22ème division d'infanterie (Vannes) Commandant : général Pambet 43ème brigade, général Duroisel : 62ème RI (Lorient) : colonel Costebonel, 116ème RI (Vannes) : colonel Estrabou. 44ème brigade, général Chaplain : 19ème RI (Brest) : colonel Chapès, 118ème RI (Quimper) : colonel François. Cavalerie : 6ème escadron du 2ème régiment de chasseurs. A.D. 22 : 35ème RAC (Vannes) : colonel Ely. Génie : Compagnie 11/2 du 6ème régiment.
