 I have recently obtained a large branze death medal, accompanying presentation scroll, letter sent to NOK advising of death (original in frail condition) plus a photograph and postcard (sent to daughter). CWG records show Pte John Barton (50879), C Coy, B Bn Royal Fusliers aged 35 died 2.11.1916 and buried in Dainville Communal Cemetery. I have visited the grave - it is one of only 38 burials in the middle of the town cemetry on the western edge of Arras. Can anyone suggest:

OOPS! Sorry guys - this was a draft that should not have been submitted. Still - added a touch of mystery to your lives. For the full story see my slightly earlier post " "Help needed". I am still trying to find out why there are 30 odd graves in the middle of the Dainville Town Cemetery on the outskirts of Arras - all from different times - any suggestions?

Sorry again - do I have to fall on my sword?
