Laurent -

If you mean, "Why are there no gravestones?" the answer is that this was one of two mine-craters used by the Canadians in 1917 to bury bodies found on the Vimy battlefield. (The other crater they used was Lichfield Crater.) The Candadians placed 53 bodies into the crater and then partially filled it in. This means that the crater is a mass grave. There are 5 unidentified soldiers buried in the crater. The names of the 48 known soldiers are carved into panels on the wall.
