Guest Ian Topham Posted 13 July , 2003 Share Posted 13 July , 2003 In the British Army Order of Battle for the 1st July 1916. Can anyone give me the location of the Territorial Units of the Royal Horse Artillery, mainly those of the Lancashire Territorial Batteries on that day? I also would be interested to know what the Hat Badge worn by the above unit looked like? Many thanks
Neil Mackenzie Posted 21 July , 2003 Share Posted 21 July , 2003 Ian. According to the R Cox book on Military Badges, the Territorial units of the RHA had distinctive shoulder titles but used the general pattern cap badge adopted for Territorial units of the Royal Artillery - a rather poor example of which is shown below. The exceptions were the West Riding and Warwickshire batteries.
