Picking up this thread after a number of years and hoping to add some additional information from the diary my grandfather kept during his service with 331 Siege Battery RGA.

Firstly, making connections with the other posts here, the following entries describe positions and billeting during the Third Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele).

Reached position at Wyschaete Ridge 7/9/17

Left for Ypres 28/9/17

Billets nr. Asylum

Positions at --------

Cambridge Road     ) Billets at Potijze

Bavaria House         ) near the "White Chateau"

Zonnebeke (near)    ) Dressing Station

Rear of Bavaria Ho.

Nov 8th to Dec 8th

Position at Bank Farm

St. Jean Rd from 8/12/17 to

14/12/17    Stayed at Billets

(Potijze) till 22/12/17

(Diary of Active Service, 116796 Cpl. Alfred Douglas Macfarlane, M.M. )

The last two positions correspond to those marked up on the map by essdee, both Bavaria House and Bank Farm are present on the map.

Later entries in the diary are from the battery's positions during The Spring Offensive and 100 Days Offensive. I'll post these later as time allows.

Not sure if anyone is still on this thread but have just come across it.

My grandad Arthur Thorpe was with 331 battery during most of the dates mentioned, and I would love to have more information if anyone has anything.
