Service Number Question

the gunners dream

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help me with these service numbers namely is there any significance to the 47 on the end of both and can you tell from this what year he went to France?

This is for Private Sam Moss who served in both regiments and died in Flavy Le Martel POW camp on 02/06/18.

North Staff's service number 38047

Buff's service number G/13947

I have a copy of the MIC and other than regiment info and the Medal Roll number and page there is nothing else to go on at the mo. I'm going to Kew soon but just wondered if anyone can decipher the service numbers.

Many thanks

Steve, I am afraid the two 47's are simply coincidence. Assuming he won no Star you at least know he went overseas after 1.1.16.
