Wondered if anyone knows the location of the 34th CCS on 14 April 1917.

Perhaps around Beaufort (?).

Thanks,

Jim

Thanks Chris,

Didn't realise the was a list on the main site. I'm getting lazy, coming straight to the forum, without having a proper look around.

Cheers

My first enquiry and in particular regarding the 34 CCS. I have noted that the War Diary in 2013 hadn't been copied or digitised. Has the situation changed to date? My great uncle died of pleurisy at 34 CCS and I am endeavouring to uncover whether this would be as a result of gassing or due to the winter conditions at the time of his passing, February 8 1917.

The Admissions Books for 34 CCS are in TNA, Kew in Series MH 106. 1917 starts in MH 106/722. You will have to back track from the date of his death to find the date that he was admitted. The reason for his admission will be recorded, along with his name, rank, number and Unit. The entry also records date of death where appropriate. I will not be going before September but perhaps someone can do a look up for you before then. I am researching 1916 Admission Books.
