T8HANTS Posted 10 June , 2005 Share Posted 10 June , 2005 Hi all Over the years I have gathered a modest collection of cap badges, with no particular theme, which shock horror, have lived a Tesco bag in a wooden box for a very long time. So as I am totally lacking in ideas, how do you display or store your badges? Gareth
Dave Phillips Posted 11 June , 2005 Share Posted 11 June , 2005 Gareth I went to a picture framer with my modest collection and discussed with him the best way to display my badges. He came up with a deep glass frame and sponge backing covered in a light grey thin stretch fabric attached to a removable back. It has been easy to push the backs of the badges (both sliders and hoops) into the backing through the fabric (after making a small incision with a sharp knife) as I added to my collection. This bespoke frame cost me £80 three years ago and it is now full! However, it does look great. All the best Dave

Being a bespoke picture framer by profession and for my sins which are many! Daves advice is very sound. Any competent framer should be able to offer a number of display options. I work from the New Forest Hants so the IOW is a little too far away and the Ferry charges are astronomical for such a short journey.
