museumtom Posted 6 June , 2005 Posted 6 June , 2005 I have just aquired a lamp that looks at first glance to be and old train signallers lamp. It has a carrying handle at the top and another one at the back. It has three glass filters, red, purply-blue and clear. The wick holder is made from ceramic. To turn the filters you turn the carrying handle any of 4 ways. The last way just shows the wick without coloured glass in front of it. The glass at the front of the lamp is round, thick and bevelled. There are no markings on it whatsoever but it was located here in ireland. I asked a friend of mine was it railway and he said no because the colours are wrong. He suggested it was a Royal irish constables. The condition is brilliant and works a treat. It is painted black Any ideas guys? This one has me stumped.
