I have got a copy of the Westlake reprint of the 1918 Volunteer List, so if anyone would like any look-ups please don't hesitate....

Please note that I am not connected so have to use my local friendly Library, so the response time may not be great, but I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Dave,

I am not familiar with this book, does it list all of those in the whole country who served in the volunteer service for home defence or have I got completely the wrong end of the stick?

Simon,

It's the equivalent to the Army List, but for the Volunteer (part-time) units of the Army. These comprise of a number of Volunteer Battalions of the County Regiments, for instance the 3rd Volunteer Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment (the unit I am interested in), together with some A.S.C (M.T.) Volunteer Units and a few artileery units. These are the successor units to the VTC units and the like. As with the Army List only officers are listed.
