Bombadier Posted 17 May , 2005 Share Posted 17 May , 2005 According to The News (Portsmouth) the 14-15 Star Trio plus DCM to the above soldier are to be sold at auction tomorrow. Auctioneers are D M Nesbit of Southsea who can be contacted on 023 9229 5568. Included in the lot are his "enlisting and demobilization papers" and "The London Gazette of October 20 1916 which states Pte. E.T.B. Ward, Royal Berkshire Regiment, for conspicuous gallantry during operations". They are being auctioned by his daughter. Guide price £600 to £ 800 I have no connection with any of the above, but I thought that some Pals might be interested. Nigel
mac Posted 18 May , 2005 Share Posted 18 May , 2005 Might be of interest re above. If anyone knows the daughter can they put me in touch. I am not a medal collector, but I am researching the R/Berks Regt DCM winners in the Great war and I am on the lookout for a photo of CSM Ward both for the project and the Regt Museum archives. Many thanks MAC [C.S.M., 12810, Edward T B Ward, 5th R. Berks - LG 20-10-1916, Page 10209. Citation:- For conspicuous gallantry during operations.
