Guest john craven Posted 30 June , 2003 Share Posted 30 June , 2003 In the Regimental history of the 1/4th Duke of Wellingtons Regiment, they were at Estaires in April 1916. The book says ''In Estaires the sound of guns could be clearly heard, and there the first aeroplane fight which anyone had seen was witnessed''.
