Although he reenlisted in Wales, in a Welsh infantry regiment, he was from North Parish, Cork. He enlisted in the 3rd Militia Battalion, and thereafter enlisted at Cork on 20 Dec 1893 under Regular terms of service in the Royal Munster Fusiliers, 4531. A Boer War veteran, he served 12 years with the colours, and four years in the Army Reserve Section D.

Discharged 28/06/1918, invaliding disability was VDH which was either due to or aggravated by service in Gibraltar between 1915 and 1918. He died less than a month later on 24/07/1918.

Whether or not this adds up to a viable case will depend entirely on his cause of death as stated on the death certificate.

I agree, for CWGC the DC cause of death will need to closely match the VDH medical terms of discharge.

His discharge address and that of his widow was 9 Upper Salisbury Street, Tredegar
