182 CEF Posted 25 June , 2003 Posted 25 June , 2003 Does anyone know who received the last MM during the War. I know that Will Bird of the 42nd CEF won his for actions on the night of Nov 10th and morning of Nov 11. Did anyone else get one that late in the War? Dean Owen
Paul Reed Posted 25 June , 2003 Posted 25 June , 2003 From memory there were several awards of the MM to Canadian units fighting in Mons on the 10/11 November 1918; as you say, Will Bird being amongst them. I suspect that as British units were also fighting up to the 11th, then some may have been awarded to them as well.
Guest stevebec Posted 25 June , 2003 Posted 25 June , 2003 Of cause what do you mean by then end of the war? I have a number awarded to Australian soldiers in Russia 1919 S.B
