I'm looking into a Private Thomas Pipes 14633 and found he was Deserter or Absentee from His Majesty's Service. It was issued in the Police Gazette 1916-1918 but I can't find the Gazette with his name in or what punishment he got so help with this would be great.

May I ask how you know he was a deserter. A search of the Police Gazette online has failed to find anything.

His MIC has him to Class Z Reserve and no sign of any forfeiture of medals on his medal rolls.

Looks like Fold 3 is wrong?

Fold3 say Police Gazette, February 1917 -- I have spent the last hour going through that issue and can not find any reference to Thomas Pipes.
