Meaning of Letter/ symbol on medal roll.

I am researching a solider and i have come across a circle or a letter O with a tick on the remarks on this medal roll and was wondering what the meaning of this could be.  (the symbol and tick on the far right of the picture)

It is consistent throughout the Roll and appears to be an administrative check on the accuracy of the entry. The tick is frequently seen on the Rolls sometimes with an alphabetical character, sometimes not.
