Finally picked up a copy of Skennertons book on British & Commonwealth Bayonets, found this little snippet, any idea if this still stands or is there any new information on EFD production of P1907s

@t.ryan Thanks for these mate, especially that late EFD that’s quite special.

Navydoc,

Been looking for 07 RFI around 1911 but nothing lower than that 6/13 yet.

Saw this on an auction site. Went for £1600 eventually.

Im still annoyed at myself for not paying ****** all for a 1913 dated HQ Ishapore back in 2020 at the Brisbane Arms Fair….

naydoc,

Sorry, I took the RFI 6/13 dated bayonet off your last list as being the earliest recorded so far, forgot the 11/12 date you posted on Saturday,

Cheers,

TR

Winchester Pattern 1913 - (05-16)

From my personal collection, should be one of the first ones, but who knows what will turn up.

Winchester Pattern 1913 - (06-17)

can use this as a placeholder for the moment, a bit later that is normally common.

Vickers Pattern 1913 - (05-17)

believe this is the latest - would lend some credence that they moved straight from the 1913 to the 1907 which would make sense

Navydoc:

A very interesting investigation that you have started. I have an April 1916 dated Winchester P1913 bayonet.

navydoc,

Not many 1913 EFD bayonets showing up, several 3/13s and a 11/13.

Just the one small update for today 1913 Rem 10/17.

Cheers,

TR

I thought that I recognised that last bayonet.!! Here is the original photo of mine ... October '17 examples x 2 that came with excellent 1st Pattern M1917 scabbards. These are US overstamped.
