The talk studies the impact of football as a vehicle for morale/fitness/esprit de corps during the Gallipoli Campaign, in addition it features several fascinating characters, on both sides of the wire, who served at Gallipoli including a number who never came home. Clive Harris is currently researching a PhD on footballs impact on the British Army during the Great War and has a deep personal connection to the Gallipoli Campaign in particular.
