Pte1643 Posted 23 April , 2005 Share Posted 23 April , 2005 John. Grandfathers details. Sapper Herbert Puzey R.E. (Royal Engineers). Service # 101697. Awarded the 14/15 Star Trio. (Medal Rolls & Page #'s as stated). The "Squiggly" lines along side the word "British" (for BWM) are just to represent "Ditto", from the above Victory medal entry. (they are entered on the same medal roll, and the same page). First entered Theatre of War (France) on 26th Aug 1915. Was "Class Z" reserve, meaning he was "Kept on the books", so to speak, in order that, if the hostilities were to "Kick Off" once more, he could be called back into action quickly. Hope this helps. Mark.
