Gnr 210267 Harry A Stollery Royal Field Artillery

I am trying to find out more information on my great grandfather Harry Albert Stollery.  I was shocked to recently learn that he was a decorated war hero fighting in WWI for the UK.  He had immigrated to the US a couple of decades before WWI commenced and I had no thought to search for military records in the UK for him.  I also found that he decided to never naturalize in the US,  My grandmother never mentioned any of these things.

He was a gunner in the Royal Field Artillery, service number 210267.  I found his medal card on the National Archives' website, but no other records.  I'd really also love to have a photo if that's at all possible.

Thank you.

In a way they were all heroes - but I would be keen to learn what decorations you are aware of that he received that might have "officially" made him one?

For example, did he earn a gallantry medal?

MIC shows entltled to War and Victory medals only

had a look on the rolls and Fold 3, no other mention of any gallantry medal. I see you are on Ancestry , there may be another two people but have private trees, so may be worth asking them.

He was awarded the medals , British War Medal and victory medal as normal awards for service in WW1.Not necessarily "decorated" just general issue, around 6.5 million BWM and 5,725,000 Victory medals, the BWM was a standard issue, the Victory , various designs for different country issues.

Being RFA , Royal Field Artillery, and no mention of a Battalion or Battery may be hard to find any more information. The problem researching soldiers who returned is that , with their attestation papers being lost in WW2, there is not much evidence left, whereas if they died there could be another channel to follow.
