I think I must be missing something, but 2/Lt Alexander Jack Shaw seems to have two differnt dates for his commission as a Special Reserve second lieutenant (on probation):

THE LONDON GAZETTE, 2 APRIL 1915. p.3255

"SPECIAL RESERVE OF OFFICERS.
INFANTRY.
The undermentioned ex-Cadets and Cadets
of the Officers Training Corps to be Second
Lieutenants (on probation) : —

Dated 3rd April, 1915.

Hugh Drummond Allan, 3rd Battalion,
Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
Alexander Jack Shaw, 4th Battalion,
Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders."

and

SUPPLEMENT TO THE LONDON GAZETTE, 8 NOVEMBER 1915. p.11038

SPECIAL RESERVE OF OFFICERS
The undermentioned, to be Second Lieu-
tenants (on probation). Dated 9th Novem-
ber, 1915:—

The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
George Amy as Radcliffe.
Arthur Cedric Elliott.
William Burnside.
William Smith Ramsay Henderson.
Eric Gerard Leggatt.
John Munro Garlick.
James Fortune McNab.
James Matheson.
Robert Caldwell.Allan.
George MacDonald Bruce.
Alan Drummond Law.
Ronald James Friar McAlister.
Evan Welldon Wilson.
Robert Alistair Murray.
William Cargill Macfarlane.
Alexander Jack Shaw.
Arthur Henderson."

Is this a mistake? Am I missing something?

I have yet to check the Army Lists, but the newspaper reports of his death seem to be working on the earlier date.
