MM citations are very rare [as hens' teeth?] - This award amongst so many rather looks like a job lot [for worthy service?] During the war it might be possible to see something in a War Diary [but rare] 8 minutes ago, Lubbock said: And any idea how I see would go about possibly tracing his MM Britsh Medal Forum have a 'Seeking family medals' section. https://www.britishmedalforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=9651 Attaching links to Ancestry records seems to also be advised elswhere on the GWF Also put alert at the Saleroom.com to get a heads-up on auctions https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb M Edited 2 May , 2024 by Matlock1418 typo
mancpal Posted 2 May , 2024 Posted 2 May , 2024 (edited) James, unfortunately MM citations are rare. It may be that his gallantry was mentioned in the press local to his home, that would be your best bet. There is a slim chance that the action was noted in the war diary if you can isolate the date. If you join the British Medal Forum it is possible that his medals may be in somebodies collection. You can also set up alerts on eBay in case his decorations come up for sale. Simon beaten to it!
