I am in possession of a very clear form as above, it has several 'stamps' regarding embarkation to Egypt and France, however the following is handwritten.

"Gold, Add pay @ 1/- (Tailor) -------1/31= 5 17 01810 41

ditto June 1 30 1917 01810 41"

This man was a miner when he joined up, and was a miner when released, however my Uncle was conceived at the end of June 1917, and the family have often wondered how this happened when our Grandfather Cpl. 859 was in France. Does anyone have any suggestions what the handwritten notes mean?
