Private Edward G Sirett 55033 1/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment?

Good morning Gentlemen,

Private  Edward G Sirett 55033 1/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, was killed on the 04/11/1918 and is buried in Landrecies British Cemetery, I cannot find a pension card for him. He was killed in the action around the Sambre-Oise Canal.

Brian,

  There will not be a card unless someone had been dependant on Edward, and claimed for a pension. His father, Caleb, was working as a Draper in 1911, so it is unlikely he, or his wife, would have been dependant on Edward.   1911 England Census - Ancestry.co.uk

Thanks for your reply, I know I shouldn't but always assume if anyone who had been killed the family would have claimed, so thank you for that information,

Chaz,

  It doesn't mean that Caleb was a dependant, only that he had been nominated to receive Edward's war gratuity and bank balance.
