condronjames Posted 29 May Share Posted 29 May (edited) Morning all I’m seeking an original copy of the trench map Hebuterne 57D NE 3&4 as at 23 Feb 1916. It shows the area my great great uncle, Herbert Guiver, was killed (Luke and John Copses) and buried (Sucrerie Military Cemetery) on 17 February 1916. I’d love to own the map showing the trenches so close to his date of death. It would mean a lot to me. Does anyone have one they’d be prepared to part with please? Thanks James Edited 29 May by condronjames

condronjames Posted 29 May Author Share Posted 29 May Thanks for this. I will definitely print it off. Hoping to track down an original copy though if at all possible
brianmorris547 Posted 1 June Share Posted 1 June There are no maps in the War Diaries of 12 Infantry Brigade, or the other Infantry Brigades of 4 Div, for that month. In the WD of 4 Div HQ General Staff there is this showing the area. It is attached to a report on defences for January 1916. Courtesy TNA WO 95/1444 There are maps on the NLS system showing the copses but you are better with Trenchmapper.
