Grandmothers cousin William Richard Sheldrick 30038 MM

While researching my grandmothers family  I came across the above cousin . He was killed in France on 27/9/18. and is commemorated on the Vis-en-Artois memorial. Could anyone tell me what he may have been doing at that time or point me in the right direction.

Likely victim of artillery shelling during the advance through Picardy and Artois.
Corporal Sheldrick 30038, Z Company 1st Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers.

edit - his medals were sold at auction in June 2022, and currently available to buy on ebay.

Many thanks Dia Bach and KimeRD. I have just downloaded the WD for the 1st Northumberland Fusiliers . It gives me a good idea of what he was doing at the time.
