I have just spotted this intriguing poster in post war Cologne. I really feel it reads String band, sadly no accurate date known, but I thought people may be interested.

There is a date on the Kaiserhof poster - „Sonntag den 20. März“ - which would date it to 1921 or 1927.

Great observation, 1921 is the year I believe that most of the post war images were taken - thank you

The Royal Artillery has one of the oldest bands in the British Army and alongside the Sovereign’s Household Division bands has always maintained the highest standards of music, but also an unusual range and diversity.  The orchestra of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, existed for over 250 years, and was proud to have been the first professional orchestra in Britain.
You might find something about it’s concerts in a published history of the band here: https://ia904705.us.archive.org/30/items/memoirsofroyalar00farm/memoirsofroyalar00farm.pdf
