I’m sorry but I don’t know how to post a picture on this sight

It's easy.
Put the image on your desktop.

Go to the 'Reply to this topic' box at the bottom of this page and click your mouse cursor on it.

Then drag and drop your image into the pale blue section at the bottom of the panel (shown by the red arrow), then click submit.

Going back to my first post, this is addressed to Harold C Huntley who married Besssie M Meacher in Q4 1915 at Winchester.

There is a photo of Harold Huntley on this forum posted by Sepoy some years ago.

As KAD said above, he could be a brother to Bessie so it would worth searching Perce/Percy Meacher.

ThanksAllen only just got messages as 7 hour time difference will check it out thanks again R

I'm sorry, but folk are rather wary of communicating directly with email addresses on forums.

You can only post the following file formats for images. Try again:

  • PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG,
  • Max total size: 14.65 MB

Or chose files rather than drag. That’s what I always do. Screen shot from iPad

In 1911, living at 51 Cotleigh Road West Hamstead was Florence Selina Dwight.

She must be the "Dear Flo" that the card is addressed to.

Florence Selina KEEN married Henry DWIGHT in 1906.

In 1920 Alfred KESTER was living at 51 Cotleigh Road, along with Herbert Edward and Lucy Marth EASY.

Alfred married Florence Edith MIDDLETON in 1916.

I wonder if she had a brother Christopher.

The addressee looks like it could be Mrs. A. Kester -- but how would that fit into the puzzle?

Edit: Answered by Alf in his edit above. Brother seems likely to me.

Richard,

The card was addressed to Mrs A. Kester. This must be Florence Edith Kester nee Middleton, See my previous post. By the conventions of the time she would be known as Mrs Alfred Kester. She is the Flo who is being written to. Since Florence and Alfred were married in 1916 it is likely  that is when they move into 51 Cotleigh Road.

It seemed that Christo might be a brother of Florence, but now I'm not so sure. She only seems to have had 1 brother, James Alfred Middleton. I now think he may be a cousin, but without a surname it would be near impossible to identify him. Alternatively, he may in fact be James Alfred Middleton, and 'Christo' is a family nickname.

Alf McM
