TimyD Posted 9 November , 2022 Share Posted 9 November , 2022 Hi all im new to the forum and am not quite sure this is in the right place, but I recently picked this helmet up and am at a bit of a loss as to its origins . It doesn’t appear to be stamped any where, the rim does not look ver wide and is magnetic metal. Does any one have any ideas what era it could be from . Thanks Tim
peregrinvs Posted 9 November , 2022 Share Posted 9 November , 2022 Going by the chinstrap attachments, I’d say it was a WWII British / Commonwealth MkII helmet. Looks like it lost it’s rim at some point. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brodie_helmet#United_Kingdom
MrEd Posted 9 November , 2022 Share Posted 9 November , 2022 Yes the fact that it’s the same width all the way round the rim and riveted strap attachments point to post ww1 (most likely ww2)
