Remembered Today:

Is this a ww1 helmet or a German transitional one? I paid a fair bit for it and am worried it’s not ww1.

The OP’s question suggests this is an item that has been sold rather than one that is for sale.

The position of the chinstrap attachment rivets suggests this is an Austrian M1917 helmet. The liner looks like a post-WWI replacement of some sort, but I don’t know where from. The condition of the exterior and interior also look a bit different. I would be sceptical that this is a bona fide WWI German camo helmet.

The liner looks post WW1 (airholes).

The rear rivet should be much larger to keep the leather strap of the armour plate in place when in use.
