Served 1915to demob in early 1919. He claimed a 1914-15 Star trio of medals. His entire seervice was in the hired Lowestoft drifter HMS RENOVATE. She was taken up at HMS HALCYON (the Lowestoft Base) 12/1/15 and then transferred to HMS WHITE OAK (Poole, Dorset Base) 23/1/15, She was tthen moved to HMS ACTAEON (Sheerness Base) 1/8/15 for the rest of the war. RENOVATE, hired drifter, Adty No 1058. Built 1909, 81grt, Lowestoft-reg LT.307. Armament: 1-6pdr AA. In service 1.15-1920 as net vessel. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
chaz Posted 1 November , 2022 Share Posted 1 November , 2022 he was from Wrentham, Suffolk and died in Lothingland , Suffolk in 1957. there is a family tree on Ancestry you could try Thomas William Fletcher born 10/11/1890 died 31/10/1957 so relevent to this week. I don’t know how my brother came to have the medal but we did live in Lowestoft for a while maybe he acquired it there. I will have a look at the family tree.
