Again so much help,

I got the R.E Rly Coy diaries, unfortunately were very sparse, each page being a full month with a lack of information unfortunately.

With John serving previously with 17th Bn NF Pioneer Bn, they were attached to the 277th R.E . On checking on CWGC I noticed buried either side of John is another chap from 277th who died the day after John. Also a chap from 17th Pioneer Bn NF, two days later….

I presumed they may have been wounded together, hospitalised in Poperinghe and all passed away within days of each other thus buried together.

Just a hunch, but thought I would reverse search using 17th Bn diary see if anything crops up 🤷🏻‍♂️
I really must Thank You with my heartiest of appreciation for your assistance. Let’s hope I can come up trumps

All the best

Geoff
