English, French and Australian motorcycles. Who manufactured them? I think America used Harley's. Pic is French.

The British mostly used Triumph, Douglas and P&M machines. I think a small number of BSA also. The one in the photo appears to be an FN, Belgian made, interesting for being shaft drive.

Think they supplied many bikes to the forces.

Yes they did. Made in Wolverhampton. Including a sidecar Vickers MG carrier. Lots of info on www about them.
