Mark1959 Posted 4 October , 2022 Share Posted 4 October , 2022 He was in the furniture trade. As an apprentice in 1911. As a salesman and buyer in 1939. 1939 list says born 31/10/1894. That was in Walmer Kent. Died 11/1/1979. Lived in Bournemouth. 09 February 1919 - Civil & Military Gazette (Lahore) has him granted leave ex-India on medical grounds whilst with 2-17th Infantry. His medal records indicate he received the British War Medal only. So did not serve in an operational area. Suggestive of war service in India only.
