Remembered Today:

Did Turkey have both a red flag and a green one?

Mate,

I have seen both types used on posters when showing the Ottoman Empire.

The main colour was a Red flag with white half moon and star.

While Green is shown on a number of flags, its hard to confirm they used this colour Green on Military flags, as all Regt Colours I've seen are Red.

But I am open to other ideas

From wikipedia:  "With the Tanzimat reforms in the 19th century, flags were redesigned in the style of the European armies of the day. The flag of the Ottoman Navy was made red, as red was to be the flag of secular institutions and green of religious ones".

Seems this convention was continued until 1923  with further reforms in 1936. :  https://www.edarabia.com/turkey/flag/.
