Chasemuseum Posted 13 August , 2022 Share Posted 13 August , 2022 It has a peal away lead seal around the top, like a sardine and a tombstone meat tin of the period. It is neither of these. It may have been a moisture proof tin for T-friction igniters used with some types of British artillery (60-pounder and several other guns) but I cannot confirm this. 303man Posted 14 August , 2022 Share Posted 14 August , 2022 Looks like a friction tube tin, they held 10 friction fuzes, https://www.angloboerwar.com/forum/21-uniforms-badges-and-equipment/31231-artillery-and-ammunition?start=
