One is named to 4230 PTE. W. RICHLIEN. DURH.L.I. and the other to 4230 PTE. W. RICHLIEU. DURH.L.I.  There are two MICs and two medal rolls each in the individual names. On paper you would be forgiven for thinking that these are two different men. I would have thought that someone would have realised that RICHLIEN was wrong, recalled the medal and amended the information so that the correct medal could be issued. But here no-one seems to have realised that these related to the same man and so two sets of medals were issued.

My name is Michael West, I put my name on this forum as my family name ‘Richlieu’, but somehow it is been changed to the incorrect spelling of ‘Richelieu’…?
