La Vacquerie December 1917

I have come across an aerial photograph supposedly of La Vacquerie in a book I've been reading, the caption gives the source as Deutsche Kriegsarchiv, Stuttgart, Germany  - a google search of this caption didn't find anything. I also reverse image searched the aerial photograph and no match was found. 

Would someone be able to identify the original source and if it is online?

It certainly looks like La Vacquerie. The arrow in the top right of your pic points north. Compare it with this map of Unit dispositions from the November 1917 WD of 12 Div HQ GS. Courtesy TNA WO 95/1825. I have cropped it but the full map is on Ancestry Piece 1825 p 794. La Vacquerie is in Square R 15 d & 16 c. Sorry I can not answer your original query .

From my limited German language knowledge I would say that 'Deutsche Kriegsarchiv, Stuttgart, Germany' translates to 'German war archive, Stuttgart' Germany'. May I call upon @GreyC please, to help you here if he is willing to do so. Mc Master WW1 maps/photos aerial and other, may have something but I have not found it yet. Regards, Bob.

I‘m guessing the book was published in the inter-war years, the Kriegsarchiv no longer exists as such, the surviving archives are now in the State Archives of Baden-Württemberg
