steve140968 Posted 23 March , 2005 Share Posted 23 March , 2005 I'm going to the PRO very soon for the second time with the view to finding out as much about my grandfather and his movements during the great war as possible . From my first visit i already have MIC details and medical details from WO364 , and i will be looking for the relevant war diaries . Can anyone please make any suggestions as to what else i might find during my visit ? Many thanks , Steve .
Paul Reed Posted 23 March , 2005 Share Posted 23 March , 2005 Have a look at his medal roll entry in WO329 and check that no further pension records are available in PIN82. The latter is far from complete, and mainly lists men killed in action. It doesn't give you much beyond basic military details and names of next of kin and dependants, but everything helps. steve140968 Posted 23 March , 2005 Author Share Posted 23 March , 2005 Thanks Paul , i have copies of his medal rolls - under which column heading would i find information regarding PIN82 ? Many thanks , Steve .
Paul Reed Posted 23 March , 2005 Share Posted 23 March , 2005 You can search it on line by typing his surname in and then PIN82 into the class area of the search facility (not the documents on line search).
