East Kent Regiment in Ireland 1920's

Can anyone confirm that the East kent regiment was based in Ireland post WW1 Ive heard stories that my great great Uncle was in ireland for a bit after the war and went awol when there was an uprising but not sure which regiment would have been with as he was originally with the buffs in WW1.

According to the link https://web.archive.org/web/20071215230743/www.regiments.org/deploy/uk/reg-inf/003-1.htm the 1st Battalion, the Buffs was in Ireland, Fermoy 1920-1921.
