Jim Hastings Posted 29 April , 2022 Share Posted 29 April , 2022 Hi Tony, You may have this already, but in case not and whilst a forum pal more versed in the Palestine Campaign has to see your post, from an Internet search I found that the Turks attempted to counterattack to regain Jerusalem on the 26th and the 53rd Division supported the 60th and 74th in repulsing it. They successfully did so and went on the advance themselves. As part of this the 1/7th RWF attacked and seized the White Hill on the 27th. Here's the rub, I haven't managed to identify where said White Hill is, I'm sorry. All the best Jim
Jim Hastings Posted 29 April , 2022 Share Posted 29 April , 2022 Bit of further digging suggests the 53rd were holding positions running NE to E to SE of Jerusalem and White Hill was neat to Ras ez Zamby. The Turks attacked either side of the Nablus Road Cheers Jim

Jim Hastings Posted 1 May , 2022 Share Posted 1 May , 2022 Pleasure Tony sorry I could not find out more. Maybe if a forum pal has a copy of the 53rd Division History they may be able to help. Maybe put a post in the Documents/ Books section to that effect? Good hunting Jim
