Does anyone know what unit the soldier belonged to? This is my great grandfather and I know almost nothing about him

I think it’s a model 1910 waffenrock (tunic) with so-called ‘Swedish cuffs’ that were favoured by a specific range of units within the German Army.  Forum member @GreyCwill be able to advise.

Hi,

a bit tricky. After having conferred with friends it´s most probably Reserve Jägerbataillon 14. As the belt buckle is Prussian, not Mecklenburg and Doppellitzen on the collar in combination with 14 on th flaps should point to  Jäger 14. They were not stationed in Marburg, so he must have visited (maybe familiy?).

Best,

GreyC
