Private W Summers 4147 on believe a bed knot, also on rear marked 8156 J Mann, cannot find a record of them

From that it looks like attested 1893 and discharged March 1914. So before the war. But did a 21 year stint.

Thank you for the reply, thats ended a family story of ww1 service, will certainly  check him out, hence pte j Mann probably served prior to Summers
