Remembered Today:

Lieutenant J Young, Army Service Corps in Lincoln, 1918, 1919

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to identify the full name and details of a Lieutenant J Young of the Army Service Corps, who was stationed in Lincoln from at least the summer of 1918 through until at least October 1919. He was a footballer at the time, so would have almost certainly have been born in the period 1884 to 1900, i.e. aged 19 to 35 in 1919. There is a possibility of a North West connection (Merseyside/Cheshire/Lancashire) and also a possibility that he was a career soldier. I don't have the knowledge to understand the ASC units stationed in Lincoln at this time but possible teams playing in local football were Lincoln Depot; No 6 Army Stores Distribution Park (known as Stores Park); and, although they had probably left by 1919, MT ASC (presumably Mechanical Transport ASC).

Any help would be very much appreciated.
