Having read the rules and not wishing to flout them in anyway, I am in need of a little advice. I require a copy of the above Officer's Service Record which I know is available at the National Archives. For any number of reasons, a visit is not something I can manage easily for some considerable time. With this in mind, is there any other source from where this record might be obtained? 

I suspect not but perhaps you can all prove me wrong?

Hi Kevin,

Have you considered using a file copying service? There are several available, but pre Covid this chap (link) seems to have been used by several Forum Pals who were happy with the speed and cost of the service (compared to ordering direct from the National Archives itself). Might it be worth contacting him to see what he might be able to do for you?
