RedCoat Posted 27 February , 2022 Share Posted 27 February , 2022 Hi all, I need to retrieve a file from the India Office Records held at the British Library. I know the reference number for the record in question, just needed a trusted researcher to copy them for me. If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful to hear from you. Kind regards, RC
MaureenE Posted 27 February , 2022 Share Posted 27 February , 2022 I have seen favourable comments about Lee Richards https://www.arcre.com although I have not personally used the services he provides. His webpage indicates he visits the British Library and in the past he has provided a copying service, but whether it is operating at the British Library currently I do not know. You would need to contact him and enquire. Maureen

RedCoat Posted 11 March , 2022 Author Share Posted 11 March , 2022 Unfortunately, I didn't receive a response from Lee Richards - Does anyone else have any contacts?
MaureenE Posted 14 March , 2022 Share Posted 14 March , 2022 I have some years ago seen the researcher Bob O'Hara mentioned positively, but have not personally used him. http://www.searcher-na.co.uk/index.html He works mainly at TNA. I have in the past seen a specific comment that he/they visited the British Library, although now the most it says is "Bob currently leads a small team of researchers with tertiary degrees in varied relevant subjects and access to a wide range of learned bodies and museums in London" http://www.searcher-na.co.uk/about.html He claims "We are digital imaging specialists" In the past the British Library would on request, supply a list of researchers who would work at the British Library. You could enquire if they still do this, however I don't know whether any would simply copy a file. Maureen
